The Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) is a year round enrichment program for Black high school students to showcase their brilliance, innovation and creativity. ACT-SO includes 33 categories in the following areas- performing and visual arts, humanities, STEM, business and culinary arts Each year students compete in a local and national competition for scholarships . The goal of ACT-SO is to encourage scholastic excellence and opportunity, provide mentorship and exposure for Black students and promote the freedom to create, courage to pursue and promise to thrive. We work with community partners who serve as mentors, sponsors, judges, coaches and volunteers, encouraging scholastic achievement for our youth.
